Trust-by Daines L. Reed
When Ruthena Gentry escapes an abusive marriage and finds herself homeless and alone for the first time in her
life, she realizes she may not be emotionally or financially prepared to care for herself, her adult daughter, or her maturing granddaughter. She, along with many of the women in her rural Georgia book club, faces familial and
financial challenges including elder care, widowhood, college planning, a single-income household,
unplanned guardianship, and minimal retirement resources. After the newest member of Ruthena’s book club learns the women are operating a frivolous rotating savings pool, she suggests they restructure it into a wealth-building trust fund. Ruthena and her friends embark on a quest for financial literacy in hopes of creating a new legacy for their families. As the unexpected arises, the womenlearn that trust runs deeper than dollar signs.
